Can Chiropractic Reduce the Need for Back Surgery?

Many government studies have shown that Chiropractic care can get people back to work (and play) quicker, at less cost and with greater patient satisfaction. They have also shown that those receiving Chiropractic care have less need for surgery but the numbers from this May 2013 research are really amazing! Studying almost 1900 workers injured on the job in the state of Washington found that over 42% of those injured who began their treatment by consulting a surgeon wound up having back surgery while less than 2% of the patients who began their care by consulting a Doctor of Chiropractic wound up having surgery! Considering that even "successful" back surgery changes a person's life forever it is imperative that all patients choosing elective back surgery should at least have a consultation with a Chiropractor before making their final decision.
